Responsibilities

  • Facilitate Pharmacy services by maintaining open communication with medical, nursing, and other hospital staff. Actively participate in key committees such as Pharmacy and Therapeutics, Antimicrobial Stewardship, Opiate Stewardship, and Medication Safety. This role involves direct action, appropriate delegation, and collaboration with other healthcare professionals.
  • Oversee personnel management within the department, including performance evaluations, salary adjustments, counseling and disciplinary actions, staffing schedules, and professional development.
  • Ensure compliance with record-keeping and documentation requirements in accordance with legal and hospital policies, including narcotic control, tax-free alcohol records, purchasing and receiving documents, quality assurance, and JCAHO documentation.
  • Review, update, and enforce policies and procedures to enhance the quality and delivery of pharmaceutical care.
  • Develop and manage the annual budget, including forecasting budget increases due to new therapeutic agents. Monitor department operations to ensure adherence to budgetary guidelines.
  • Support the department’s distributive and clinical functions as needed.
  • Manage inventory and supply chain coordination, working closely with Material Management to ensure adherence to inventory management initiatives.

  • Must be a graduate of an accredited College of Pharmacy
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure in the State of Idaho
  • BLS Current
  • Minimum of five (5) years of hospital pharmacy experience, three (3) years minimum of which are dire
