Job Description:

The Director of Client Operations will focus on and drive the expansion of the logistics services offered by HometownLX. As a key management team member, the Director of Client Operations will help drive growth throughout the company while coaching peers to identify and execute strategies to increase client retention/attraction. This role's main areas of focus include team leadership, new strategy execution, and growth-driven sales. The implementation and sales of these expanded products will be a key piece of Hometown’s continued growth and expansion.


Job Requirements/Daily Responsibilities:

  • Sell a variety of logistics solutions to executives and C-level target clients.
  • Utilize a variety of sales techniques to engage with clients
  • Including virtual, phone, and in-person sales (including occasional travel)
  • Promote sales and cross-sells internally to the company.
  • Coach and motivate sales team members to achieve goals
  • Build a positive relationship with the team
  • Lead and train team members in new logistics services
  • Assist team members with identifying and building strategies
  • Goal set and hold team members accountable for activity and results
  • Research, Develop, and Implement new logistics solutions.
  • Manage operational items core to new services being offered.
  • Warehousing oversight and contract negotiation
  • LTL partner oversight and contract negotiation
  • Assist and manage a variety of logistics-related activities.
  • Monitor sales reports, communicate trends, and market conditions
  • Daily oversight of Hometown systems and programs including load boards and rate approvals

Qualifications:

  • Combination of 5 years experience in transportation and/or sales (including LTL operations)
  • 2-3 years experience managing and leading a team of 5-10+
  • Strong negotiation and presentation skills
  • Experience in operational implementation
  • LTL and Warehousing contract experience
