JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for engineering associated with the manufacturing process. Develop an operational year plan for the manufacturing activities of the team. Suggests improvements in products, processes, and procedures.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Define and control the production process including tooling, fixtures, and equipment
- Define alternative routings for products to accommodate capacity and capability, support planning and production team.
- Establish manufacturing process time (routings) for all manufacturing areas. Responsible for the accuracy of the routings in ERP.
- Analyze product cost and provide support for process improvement initiatives to reduce it.
- Validate design specifications and shop floor application of new products, tools, or equipment.
- Leads a small CAPEX project with a budget of up to $1.0 million.
- Support continuous improvement activities: KAIZEN, Six Sigma, 6S.
- Define Manufacturing Methods and provide training for the manufacturing team on the newly developed methods.
- Periodically evaluate manufacturing Methods and update as needed.
- Review manufacturing nonconformance and provide support to identify the root cause and for the rework process.
- Follows HSE requirements and helps implement them in standard manufacturing processes
- Follows Company’s Compliance requirements.
- Maintains and improves the quality management system.
- Assume other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
ORGANIZATION RELATIONSHIPS:
Regardless of other duties, the Manufacturing Engineer has a responsibility to follow production, safety, and quality procedures.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Education and Training: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or as deemed sufficient by management
- Technical Requirements: Computer literate; strong problem-solving skills; good verbal communication skills
- Experience: At least 3 years of work experience in a similar role, or as deemed sufficient by management
