Key Responsibilities

  • Experimentation: Plan and execute on-site experiments supporting process development activities, focusing on downstream purification techniques like chromatography, filtration, and virus clearance.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze and interpret experimental results, ensuring data quality and identifying anomalous outcomes.
  • Collaboration: Work effectively in cross-functional teams and communicate results, processes, and insights during group meetings.
  • Problem Solving: Research and propose new methods or alternatives, addressing challenges with a proactive and solutions-driven approach.
  • Compliance: Work safely, adhering to protocols for handling highly potent compounds and maintaining cGMP standards during development and potential technology transfer.
  • Documentation: Contribute to technical reports, regulatory filings, and process validation documentation.


Required Qualifications

Experience:

  • Strong skills in data analysis and interpretation of experiment outcomes, including recognizing data anomalies.
  • Hands-on experience in downstream purification techniques, such as centrifugation, tangential flow filtration, chromatography, and virus clearance.
  • Demonstrated verbal communication and interpersonal skills to effectively explain processes and results.


Education:

  • BS in Chemical/Biochemical Engineering, Biochemistry, Chemistry, or related scientific discipline with 2+ years of relevant experience; OR
  • MS in a similar discipline with 1–2+ years of relevant experience.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Expertise in biologics purification, especially antibody-drug conjugates, conjugation, and ultrafiltration/diafiltration (UF/DF).
  • Knowledge of cGMPs, technology transfer, and bioprocess scale-up.
  • Familiarity with multiple modalities, including monoclonal antibodies (mAbs), bispecifics, and fusion proteins.
  • Hands-on experience with analytical operations like SEC/HPLC, CE (R/NR), and HCP testing is a plus.
  • Technical writing skills and experience with regulatory documentation.


Skills and Competencies

  • Ability to design and execute experiments supporting purification process definition, optimization, and characterization.
  • Collaborate with Technical Operations for technology transfer and troubleshooting during GMP manufacturing.
  • Monitor external literature and scientific conferences to stay current on advancements in the field.
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and adept at multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
