We foster an inclusive culture and are looking for diverse, hardworking people to join Alcon As an Industrial Maintenance Supervisor supporting our manufacturing site, you will be trusted with providing direction and technical expertise to the Electro-Mechanical Technicians working on the production floor by helping to maintain open communication between the production team and the Electro Mechanics (EM) to help improve the overall process.


In this role, a typical day will include:

  • Providing work instructions and technical support to the EMs and maintaining day to day operations on the production floor
  • Developing and improving competencies for the EM staff
  • Driving TPM through the shift ensuring compliance with our CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System)
  • Communicating with the production team to maintain and provide updates as to equipment status and how to move forward as a team
  • Identifying areas for improvement (i.e., quality, yield etc.)
  • Providing feedback with the spare parts that come out of rebuild and identify training needs ensuring stock levels are adequate
  • Performing and providing various tasks for process improvements
  • Deciding if a production line needs to be shut down and re-arranging team members as required to help perform all the work necessary for the shift
  • Deciding if additional personnel need to be called in if the absenteeism for the day is high
  • Directing mechanics in the priorities of the business by putting focus in the appropriate areas
  • Directing spare parts on needs for parts and helping to determine the appropriate shipping time to receive parts in a timely manner
  • Providing feedback on changes and upgrades as to what is beneficial to the business
  • Providing production managers technical solutions for daily issues
  • Identifying areas in the process for quick part changes and working with vendors to provide workable solutions
  • Identifying and relaying technical information to support various projects (i.e., engineering studies support, etc.)


WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO ALCON:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +10 yrs; Assoc.+6 yrs; M.S.+0 yrs)
  • The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English
  • 2 Years of Relevant Experience
  • Work hours: 36 - 48 hours per week (12-hour rotating night shift: 2 nights on, 2 nights off, and every other weekend)
  • Travel Requirements: 0%
  • Sponsorship & Relocation: Not Available


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

  • 8 years of experience working in a fully automated production environment is a plus
  • 6 years of experience working in a manufacturing production environment
