Control Engineer

We are seeking a Controls Engineer to join our team, designing and developing advanced control systems for specialized mobile equipment. In this role, you'll take charge of programming mobile controllers and HMIs for internal combustion engines, hydraulics, and electric motors. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to create robust, field-tested solutions while supporting production and continuous improvement efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, debug, and test software for machine-based controls, and create comprehensive documentation for engineering, production, and field use.
- Design and implement control system development plans, including product specifications, budgets, schedules, and test strategies.
- Analyze and resolve production and supply chain challenges, ensuring seamless integration and performance of systems.
- Develop, test, and debug hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical control systems to meet performance and safety standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure systems are robust and meet environmental and EMC requirements for off-road applications.
- Maintain organized records and specifications for control systems, utilizing strong change control processes.
- Plan and execute virtual and physical tests for all system releases, ensuring quality and reliability.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives, enhancing development methods, processes, and standards for electronic and software systems.
- Work closely with suppliers to address quality issues and align with engineering specifications.
- Provide technical support to production, service teams, and field operations when needed.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements, staying ahead of advancements and innovations in the field.
Education:
- A 4-year degree in Electrical, Computer, or Software Engineering (minimum of 3 years of related experience)
Technical Expertise:
- Skilled in structured text programming (C, C++, CODESYS) and control system design.
- Experience with CAN protocols (J1939), HMI development, and telematics devices.
- Proficient in hydraulic systems, mechanical controls, and system integration.
- Hands-on with tools like AutoCAD Electrical, Inventor Cable & Harness, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and project management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, with the ability to work cross-functionally and meet tight deadlines.
