Duration: 6-month contract
Maximum Pay Rate: $29.27 per hour
Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Microbiologist II to join our team on a 6-month contract. This role is primarily responsible for conducting laboratory work including method development, validation, and troubleshooting. You will play a key role in supporting the quality control (QC) aspect of projects by performing required testing on raw materials, intermediates, and finished products, ensuring that projects are completed efficiently and on time.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct testing on raw materials, intermediates, and finished products in accordance with established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and test methods.
- Record and maintain accurate test results, raw data, and laboratory documentation.
- Ensure proper maintenance of laboratory equipment and assets in compliance with cGMP, GLP, and ISO 9001 standards.
- May be responsible for writing and revising Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Approve or reject finished product samples based on test results.
- Perform general laboratory support duties, including equipment maintenance, supply inventory management, and housekeeping.
- Evaluate and improve existing analytical methods; develop new methods as necessary.
- Work independently with minimal supervision, serving as an experienced team member.
- Support QC projects in both production and pilot scale facilities.
- Assist in method transfer and validation experiments.
- Train lab analysts on laboratory techniques and methods.
- Prepare for project work by assisting in the setup and planning stages.
- Support project chemists during out-of-specification (OOS) investigations.
- Provide technical guidance during the analysis of production samples.
- Contribute to the management and upkeep of lab instrumentation.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and maintain a safe work environment.
- Assist with any additional laboratory tasks as needed.
- Follow all safety and sustainability protocols, promptly reporting issues or hazards to management.
- Stop work when necessary to maintain safety standards.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Microbiology or related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of relevant laboratory experience.
