Backhaul Direct is hiring an LTL Account Manager for our Indianapolis, IN office. The LTL Account Manager is on our enterprise team and is responsible for managing dedicated customer accounts. This LTL Account Manager requires great communication skills, an energetic personality, and a strong work ethic. The ability to comprehend complex situations and foresee what needs to be accomplished to achieve success is essential to this position. We are looking for an LTL Account Manager that possesses a self-starter mentality, who can provide ownership and accountability.

What will you do as an LTL Account Manager?

  • Manage assigned LTL customer accounts and expand transportation services by providing customer service and finding ways to solve customer shipping needs
  • Identify, research, and provide creative problem resolution with customers, and carriers, understanding the root cause to prevent future occurrences
  • Create solutions based on customer needs, provide current BHD LTL customers and prospects LTL quotes upon request
  • Build strong relationships with customers by staying in constant communication to ensure day-to-day and long-term needs are met
  • Manage customer expectations and provide exceptional customer service
  • Meet regularly with customer sales and account managers to further collaborate and provide education around LTL
  • Drive implementation of new LTL customers onto enterprise team
  • Collaboratively work with other departments to properly manage customer needs
  • Seek new opportunities through existing customers to effectively grow, maintain, and develop partnerships that strategically align with the business

What are the qualifications of the LTL Account Manager?

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, supply chain, or management preferred
  • Inside sales or account management experience preferred, specifically within the LTL transportation industry preferred
  • Strong work ethic and self-driven
  • Demonstrates industry knowledge and ability and can apply the competency in new or complex situations
  • Previous experience selling and implementing an LTL pricing software preferred
  • Confident decision-making skills, and ability to maintain composure in stressful situations
  • Strong sense of urgency to complete tasks in order to thrive in a fast-paced work environment
  • Effective, professional communication
  • An entrepreneurial attitude and growth mindset
