Summary

The Business Development Manager role holds full accountability for developing leading sales strategies and execution for Denali Ingredients. The role will drive the development and execution for the commercial strategy and will be accountable for establishing sustainable growth to the business with new and existing customers.

The role will work collaboratively with sales, marketing, customer collaboration, R&D, procurement, and operations to penetrate and build relationships and business strategies to bring business opportunities to Denali through innovation and solutions for Foodservice and QSR customers.


Core Responsibilities

  1. Commercial P&L ownership and delivery against key performance measures with Denali Ingredients full potential plan.

  2. Deliver on a pipeline of sustainable growth through a deep understanding of customers and their business strategies, their functional and technical requirements, and business review process that drives customer intimacy (drive strong relationships with new and existing)

  3. Develop and execute commercial strategies through strong account planning.

  4. Proactive focus of pipeline development and execution that builds margin appropriate project pipeline for growth platforms.

  5. Maintain an external customer preference with a strong knowledge of customer needs and preferences along with market trends.

  6. Focus on connecting new relationships to build into new and emerging companies in the targeted categories as determined by strategic planning.

  7. Ensure resources and actions are allocated with the correct urgency to address customer-based issues, including competitive threats, product and service complaints and information concerns.

  8. Deep knowledge and understanding of the food service/quick serve restaurant industry network and partnerships (co-packers, foodservice, direct to retail, private label) to drive business directly and indirectly across all routes to market.

  9. Ownership of annual sales budget targets

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

·      Bachelor’s Degree required in with a preference in Business, Communications, Food Science, Chemistry, or related field. MBA preferred.

·      10 plus years progressively responsible experience in related sales, technical, or R&D roles within a food company.

·      Experience in B2B sales in foodservice and QSR/Fast Casual format is required.

·      Strong written and verbal communication skills with proven ability to effectively communicate to customers and all levels within business

·      Ability to be persuasive and assertive while also being collaborative.
