Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Clinical Research Psychiatrist to lead and conduct psychiatric research within our clinical trials team. This role focuses on the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of patients participating in clinical studies, as well as contributing to the design and oversight of research protocols. The Clinical Research Psychiatrist will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to advance mental health treatments and ensure the highest standards of patient care and research integrity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Patient Assessment and Monitoring: Conduct psychiatric assessments, evaluations, and follow-ups for clinical trial participants, ensuring accurate documentation of symptoms and responses to study treatments.
  • Protocol Oversight
  • Interventions and Treatment: Administer or oversee study-related interventions and medications, monitoring patient safety and response in accordance with study protocols and ethical standards.
  • Informed Consent Process: Facilitate informed consent discussions, ensuring participants understand the study objectives, procedures, potential risks, and benefits.
  • Clinical and Research Documentation: Maintain thorough and accurate records of psychiatric evaluations, treatment plans, adverse events, and other patient-related data as required by protocol and regulatory guidelines.
  • Collaboration with Multidisciplinary Teams: Work closely with principal investigators, clinical coordinators, and other research staff to foster a collaborative research environment and enhance study outcomes.
  • Patient Safety and Welfare: Prioritize participant safety and monitor for adverse events or psychiatric concerns, coordinating appropriate responses and follow-ups.

Qualifications:

  • Education: MD with a specialization in Psychiatry; Board Certification in Psychiatry is required.
  • Licensure: Valid medical license to practice psychiatry in California.
  • Skills: Strong clinical and diagnostic skills with detail-oriented documentation
  • Interpersonal Abilities: Excellent communication and empathy skills to work effectively with patients, research staff, and multidisciplinary teams.
