Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic vision and implement effective strategies for maximum hotel sales generation and optimal revenue growth.
  • Manage all aspects of the Sales and Marketing department for the property.
  • Support and coach team members to drive high-performance levels, job satisfaction, and personal growth. Train and empower the team to exercise sound judgment to make profitable business decisions.
  • Cultivate, enhance, and leverage relationships to elevate awareness of the hotel and gain market share.
  • Conduct sales calls and visits to university departments, key accounts, and major market prospects.
  • Manage the effectiveness of sales strategies and make adjustments using market data, market segment, and revenue management intelligence.
  • Monitor team sales activities and performance to ensure their collective revenue goals meet or exceed the established plan.
  • Accountable for departmental budgets and proven successful in achieving sales goals.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders on revenue expectations and departmental costs to ensure the sales plan is on budget and meets or exceeds profit goals.
  • Provide professional and courteous guest service at all times.
  • Promote a high-quality company image by demonstrating professionalism to both clients and colleagues.


Fundamentals:

  • Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field is required.
  • Must have previous industry experience as a leader of leaders in a Director of Sales or Assistant Director of Sales capacity.
  • Excellent verbal and written interpersonal communication skills are vital for effective negotiation, persuasion, and selling.
  • Proficient in forecasting sales and interpreting/analyzing results.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand customer needs and requirements and translate these into sales solutions.
  • A dynamic, enthusiastic, creative leader who thrives under pressure and can perform multiple functions and troubleshoot when needed.
  • Skilled in computer and software programs associated with Sales and Catering and hotel property management systems.
  • Strong computer skills utilizing Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Strong organizational skills, including follow-up, time management, and the ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to positively communicate and interact with all hotel departments.
