Our client, an automotive supplier in the Novi area, is seeking an EDI Specialist.

The EDI Specialist will be responsible for managing the receipt, transmission, and support of all Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) documents at the client site. This role includes troubleshooting software issues, assisting with system configurations, setting up new EDI business relationships, and supporting custom code documentation and maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee the full lifecycle of EDI processes, from receiving and processing to transmitting all EDI documents.
Ensure accurate and timely data exchange between internal systems and external partners by monitoring EDI transactions.
Implement and maintain industry-standard EDI document formats, including ANSI X12, EDIFACT, and other relevant formats.
Provide user support across various areas such as configuration/mapping, testing, debugging, code modifications, and troubleshooting.
Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to implement EDI processes and ensure compliance with business requirements.
Lead detailed analysis and problem-solving for business issues related to EDI processes.
Investigate and resolve data errors, proposing and implementing effective solutions.
Maintain continuous communication with business partners to ensure smooth and efficient EDI transactions.

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
Experience:

Strong understanding of Electronic Data Interchange (EDI), operating systems, and networking fundamentals.

Experience in vendor and partner collaboration, establishing and maintaining EDI connections, and negotiating requirements.

Expertise in EDI standards and protocols (e.g., ANSI X12, EDIFACT) and hands-on experience configuring these protocols.

Proficiency with EDI software tools such as IBM Sterling, OpenText, and PentaSAP, including system configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance.

Skilled in creating and managing EDI maps, translating documents to/from EDI, and handling data transformations (e.g., XML, CSV).

Experience with integration middleware, APIs, web services (SOAP, REST), and other integration platforms.

Familiarity with the following platforms:

Oracle E-Business Suite
BASE2, SPS Commerce, Cleo EDI Platform
CDATA ARC
Extensive programming/web development experience with:

Winforms, ASP.NET, ASP.NET MVC, C#, VB.NET
Oracle Open Interface Tables and their structure
MSSQL, stored procedures, views, and functions
Oracle SQL Developer
Licenses/Certifications (Required & Preferred):

Required:
Certified EDI Professional (CEP) and/or EDI Mapping Tools Certification.
Preferred:
Experience in the automotive industry or a related field.
