Wheeler Staffing Partners is seeking a Human Resources Business Partner in Plano, TX. In this role, you will provide a broad range of HR support and advice. Reporting to the General Manager of the division, this position is based at our Plano, Texas office and requires approximately 15% travel. You will support business groups across Texas, California, Oregon, and Arizona under the guidance of Global HR.


The role is based full-time in the office.


Responsibilities:

  • Primary Point of Contact: Serve as the primary point of contact for all employees and managers within your business groups.
  • Policy Development and Implementation: Assist in the development and implementation of personnel initiatives, policies, and procedures.
  • Employee Relations and Support: Handle employee relations issues and ensure a positive overall employee experience. Provide support to managers in this capacity.
  • Training and Development Coordination: Coordinate organizational training and development initiatives, such as the Career Path Matrix. Develop training programs as needed.
  • Benefits Administration Support: Assist with benefits administration, including new employee enrollment, change reporting, and communicating benefits information to employees.
  • Recruitment and Onboarding: Recruit for exempt and non-exempt personnel, students, and temporary employees. Manage pre-employment screenings, offers, and onboarding.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment.
  • Employee Recognition and Communication: Coordinate employee recognition programs, maintain employee records, and support internal communications.
  • HRIS Management and Reporting: Maintain the Human Resource Information System and compile various reports.
  • Visa Paperwork and International Assignments: Prepare visa paperwork and follow up on international assignments.
  • Policy Compliance Enforcement: Enforce, support, and comply with all work rules and company policies.
  • Other Duties: Perform other related duties as reasonably assigned in the course of business.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in human resource management or business management; five to seven years of directly related HR experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • PHR certification is preferred, but not required
  • First and foremost, you are a team player who engages with your co-workers, peers, executive management and employees at all levels
  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral
  • Strong ability to handle difficult situations and work with management to find the best solution(s)
  • Able to multi-task and prioritize tasks and responsibilities
  • Knowledge of all applicable state and federal laws; this will include state laws for California, Texas, Oregon, New York, Arizona, and other states we conduct business in
  • Highly proficient in MS Office Suite
  • Knowledge of work permits and immigration matters is an asset
  • Ability to think outside of the box in an effort to handle challenges, opportunities and issues that may arise
