Position Information


We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Director of Information Technology to join our growing team. As we expand our footprint with new locations, we are seeking a forward-thinking and strategic leader to spearhead our IT initiatives, ensuring seamless technological operations and robust infrastructure across all sites.


The Director of Information Technology will shape and execute our IT strategy to support growth, overseeing POS systems, merchant services, PCI compliance, network infrastructure, EDW, and technology needs for new locations. Reporting to the CFO, this role requires strong leadership, IT systems experience, and proactive management in multi-site environments.


The Director plays a key role in driving performance and supporting strategic decisions, requiring technical expertise, analytical skills, and effective communication. Responsibilities


IT Strategy & Leadership

  • Develop an IT strategy that supports Caliber’s growth objectives and operational needs, such as optimizing customer service technology.
  • Lead and inspire the IT team, fostering a culture of innovation tailored to our industry.
  • Partner with and manage third-party technology partners.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to implement technology solutions that enhance customer experience and operational efficiency.


POS Systems & Merchant Services

  • Oversee the deployment and optimization of POS systems designed for car wash services, including touchless and mobile payment options.
  • Manage merchant services to ensure smooth and integrated payment processing across multiple car wash locations.
  • Quickly resolve any POS and payment issues to avoid disruptions at sites, ensuring seamless customer transactions.


Compliance & Security

  • Ensure PCI DSS compliance and implement security best practices to protect customer payment data at kiosks and online.
  • Conduct regular security assessments, focusing on customer data protection in POS systems, apps, and online platforms.
  • Develop and enforce policies that uphold industry-specific security measures to maintain trust and regulatory compliance.


Infrastructure & Data Management

  • Design and manage IT infrastructure, ensuring reliable and secure connectivity for site-level systems (tunnels, kiosks, and customer management software).
  • Oversee the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) to support business intelligence needs such as customer usage trends, limitless wash club memberships, and operational performance.
  • Optimize network performance to support the demands of multiple locations, ensuring smooth operations and customer satisfaction.


Expansion & Project Management

  • Lead IT planning and execution for opening new locations, including setting up automated systems, payment integrations, and the limitless wash club.
  • Collaborate with construction, development, and site teams to ensure that IT deployments for equipment, kiosks, and support systems are completed on time.
  • Document and standardize IT procedures to streamline operations and maintain consistency across all sites.


Vendor & Budget Management

  • Manage relationships with IT vendors, such as tunnel control and POS systems and the limitless wash club.
  • Develop and manage the IT budget for site-level and organization-wide technology, ensuring cost-effective use of resources for software, hardware, and infrastructure needs.
  • Prepare and present budget reports, including forecasts for technology investments in systems and equipment.


Qualifications/Educational Requirements


  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field.
  • Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM) is a plus.
  • Proven experience in IT management or director-level roles, preferably in a multi-site or rapidly growing environment.
  • Extensive knowledge of POS systems, merchant services, PCI compliance, cabling and network infrastructure, and EDW.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage complex projects and teams.
  • Experience supporting new site openings and managing IT infrastructure for expansion projects.
  • Excellent project management skills with a track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
  • High level of integrity and ethical conduct.


Preferred Skills

  • Experience in the car wash industry; Sonny’s and/or DRB POS systems a plus.
  • Experience with Snowflake and Streamlit.


Physical Requirements


  • The position requires occasional bending, stooping, reaching, lifting, pushing, pulling, and moving items or materials of moderate weight up to 30 pounds.
  • The ability to speak clearly, to hear and understand at a normal conversational level, and to receive detailed information through verbal communication.
  • Close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: developing material; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
  • Full range of hand and finger motion for data entry purposes.


Working Conditions


  • Typical office environment, with occasional requirements for overtime during peak periods (e.g., budget season, implementations); once adept in role, potential WFH on Fridays.
  • May require occasional travel for meetings, conferences, or other business-related activities.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk or working at a computer.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift up to 25 lbs.
