Focus:
- Create network engineering solutions and designs within defined standards or propose new standards when required, ensuring holistic integration within larger solutions.
- Develop strategies and roadmaps in close collaboration with cross-functional architecture teams to support the introduction and continuous improvement of next-generation network and firewall systems.
- Actively develop a Software Defined Networking (SDN) model and introduce SDN automation solutions across Cloud, LAN, WAN, and Wireless platforms.
- Collaborate with Networking Operations teams to introduce AiNetOps into existing network platforms and future SDN platforms.
- Design and implement roadmap implementation projects, ensuring effective communication with stakeholders and operations teams.
- Maintain awareness of Operations activities through regular communication and attendance at update meetings.
- Proactively seek out opportunities for continuous improvement of systems and processes, proposing improvement activities.
- Incorporate security-by-design into all solutions, ensuring concurrent consideration of security requirements and technical requirements.
- Provide SME support to operations teams as an escalation point for P1/P2 incident resolution.
- Liaise with 3rd-party vendors to create engineering solutions and continuous improvement proposals.
- Collaborate with Architects to propose, review, and implement new standards and technologies.
- Carry out continuous personal development to keep technical skills up-to-date and gain and improve non-technical skills.
- Develop cross-functional technical knowledge to enable holistic thinking during design processes.
- Conduct technical reviews of change requests and designs created by other teams and analyze RCAs and design action plans in collaboration with Operations teams.
Skill Set:
- Extensive experience in implementing and developing vendor-agnostic Next Gen Software Defined Networking platforms and Network Automation across Cloud (Azure), WAN, LAN, and Wireless environments. CCNP Certification.
- Experience in working with stakeholders to define requirements, select technologies, design, and introduce SASE, ZTN, and Secure Web Gateway solutions.
- Strong knowledge and demonstrable experience in data center and campus networking technologies including Cisco (routing, switching, firewalls), Palo Alto (Next Gen firewalls), Azure Cloud Networking, MPLS, and encryption methods.
- Ability to carry out requirements analysis and create detailed engineering solution designs using Visio.
- Proficient in developing technology roadmaps informed by strategic directives.
- Experience in providing engineering expertise to Operations teams in support of incident and request resolution.
- Ability to create low-level implementation and build documentation.
