About the role:
The leading law firm in Los Angeles, CA is seeking an experienced Commercial Litigation Paralegal to join their dynamic legal team. This role is ideal for a highly organized and detail-oriented professional with a strong background in commercial litigation, capable of managing complex cases from inception through trial. The candidate should have at least 5 years of relevant experience and a deep understanding of litigation procedures, particularly in commercial disputes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Case Management: Manage all aspects of commercial litigation cases, including document preparation, filing, and maintenance of case files.
- Discovery: Draft, prepare, and respond to discovery requests including interrogatories, document requests, and requests for admissions.
- Trial Preparation: Assist attorneys in trial preparation, including organizing exhibits, drafting pre-trial motions, preparing trial binders, and coordinating with witnesses.
- Court Filings: File documents in state and federal courts, ensuring compliance with all procedural rules and deadlines.
- Document Review: Conduct document review, analyze case-related data, and assist with the management of large-scale discovery, including electronic discovery.
- Legal Research: Perform legal research, draft legal memoranda, pleadings, and other related documents.
- Client Interaction: Communicate with clients and assist in managing client expectations throughout the litigation process.
- Calendaring: Maintain and manage case calendars, ensuring all deadlines, court dates, and appointments are accurately tracked.
- Administrative Support: Provide additional support to attorneys, including drafting correspondence, organizing case files, and scheduling meetings.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5+ years of paralegal experience in commercial litigation.
- Paralegal certification from an accredited institution.
- Strong knowledge of federal and California state court rules and procedure
