Primary Responsibilities:

Café Operations:

  • Oversee daily operations of the Village Café, ensuring high standards of service and quality.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain a clean, welcoming environment.
  • Collaborate with the Assistant Manager to maintain an efficient workflow and seamless kitchen operations.

Menu Development and Pricing:

  • Collaborate with the management team to create and refine menu items, keeping current with culinary trends and customer preferences.
  • Set and adjust menu pricing to balance profitability with customer satisfaction.

Staff Management:

  • Recruit, train, and manage café and kitchen staff, ensuring a high level of customer service.
  • Create and manage staff schedules to meet operational needs and event requirements.
  • Foster a positive and productive work environment through effective leadership and team building.

Inventory Management:

  • Monitor and manage inventory levels, ensuring adequate supplies for café operations and events.
  • Conduct regular inventory checks and manage ordering processes.

Event Management:

  • Ensure events run smoothly and efficiently, addressing any issues promptly.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing Director and President of Administration to ensure effective communication of events.

Collaboration:

  • Work closely with the Assistant Manager to align café operations with kitchen activities.
  • Collaborate with other Village departments to support community initiatives and events.
  • Maintain open communication with all stakeholders to ensure alignment of goals and expectations.

Attendance and Presence:

  • Maintain a consistent presence at the café, ensuring management coverage seven days a week.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in café and kitchen operations, including staff management.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in inventory management and budgeting.
  • Strong financial acumen and experience with financial reporting.
  • Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in using relevant software for scheduling, inventory, and financial management.
