Overview

BCG has been partnering with a Fortune 500 US Consumer Retailer to stand up and build out their Data Science capabilities. With Board/C-Suite support, visibility and significant investment, this is a ground-floor opportunity for aspiring and experienced Data Scientists to impact and shape the business.

Here’s what you’ll be doing

Working closely with senior business stakeholders to understand business requirements and growth opportunities, your role will involve developing and deploying machine learning models, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and communicating your findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Designing and developing algorithms to analyze large datasets and generate business insights.
  • Leading and contributing to analytical projects, ensuring high efficiency and quality.
  • Communicating insights and recommendations to business leaders in a clear and impactful manner.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement data-driven solutions.
  • Continuously improving our analytics processes by developing reusable solutions and documenting methodologies.

Successful candidate qualifications include

  • You have a bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, or Mathematics, or related experience/degree.
  • You have 1 to 4+ years of experience in data mining, analytics, machine learning, and statistical programming.
  • You possess technical skills in Spark / PySpark, Psykit Learn, Python.
  • You possess strong skills in predictive modeling and data analysis, with a proven ability to solve business problems using statistical techniques, specifically time-series.
  • You have excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex insights to non-technical audiences.


It would be nice if

  • You have experience working in an Agile environment, familiarity with CI/CD and the SDLC.
  • You are familiar with the retail industry and its data challenges.
  • You have experience with big data technologies and platforms, specifically Databricks
  • You are adept at using data visualization tools to convey insights effectively.
