Position Summary

The Content Marketing Specialist will work closely with Sales and Marketing teams to develop effective marketing campaigns and content to strengthen Virginia Green’s market presence. Reporting directly to the Marketing Manager, you will create and curate content, coordinate content needs with our external agencies and manage our website. Content includes (but not limited to) blogs, landing pages, articles, social media, brochures, and sales collateral.

 

Primary Responsibilities

·        Become an expert on the Virginia Green product, target markets, vertical markets, competitive landscape, and value propositions.

·        Communicate with sales and operations leadership on materials and assets needed and desired to support the efforts of their respective teams.

·        Work with the Marketing Manager and VP of Sales/Marketing on marketing strategy and tactics to drive direct sales.

·        Maintain the company website, keep the content fresh, updated, and accurate.

·        Align content with outside ad agency to create and refine messaging and content to be used in blog posts, social media, paid social media, printed marketing materials, and web/landing pages that support the outside sales team, operations team, and/or drive direct sales.

·        Ensure brand messaging and aesthetics are cohesive and consistent across the organization.

·        Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Required Qualifications / Attributes

·        College graduate or an equally (or more) compelling collection of life experience.

·        4+ years of experience in a CRM or Marketing Automation (HubSpot, Marketo, Eloqua, etc.) role.

·        Proficient in Adobe Acrobat, Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator.

·        Strong interpersonal skills, team player, and ability to work effectively in a team environment.

·        Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

·        HTML/WordPress (or other CMS) front-end design experience required.

·        Knowledge and understanding of Google Analytics, tagging, and how to track performance of marketing programs.

·        Attention to detail, copywriting skills, and an understanding of sales and marketing tactics and strategies.

·        Ability to drive projects independently and meet commitments.

·        Photography and videography experience a plus.

·        Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

 

Education and Experience

·        2+ years’ marketing experience including Brand and Content, design, digital/social media, communications

·        2/4-year degree in Marketing, Design, English, Digital Communications, or other related experience

·        Demonstrated track record for providing exceptional customer service

 

Minimum Physical Requirements

·        Ability to sit for extended periods

·        Ability to use computer keyboard and monitor for extended periods

·        Ability to lift approximately 15-20 lbs.
