Medical Malpractice Associate

Description

Seeking an experienced and motivated medical malpractice associate with a proven track record to join our expanding practice group. Join a successful team that is committed to vigorously defending Arizona practitioners accused of malpractice, with access to the most respected medical experts globally.

Responsibilities

Manage caseload from intake to final resolution, including:

  • Proactive and professional client communication to provide updates on case progress and address any questions or concerns.
  • Research and investigation of medical records and evidence to further defense strategy and to identify strengths and weaknesses in a case.
  • Manage the discovery and disclosure process, including drafting and responding to interrogatories, requests for production, and requests for admissions.
  • Develop case strategy, participate in negotiations, taking, and defending depositions, working with experts, and preparing cases for trial.
  • Legal research and preparation of motions relating to all phases of litigation, including post-trial motions.

Preferred Experience

  • A strong desire to gain experience handling client interviews, hearings, depositions, and trial.
  • Strong creative, analytical, and problem-solving abilities and the confidence to offer new ideas to the litigation team.
  • 3-4 years’ experience practicing law with focus on medical malpractice or insurance defense with a desire to remain in this field.
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology, procedures, and standards of care.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication with the ability to accept and learn from suggested changes.
  • Demonstrated commitment to providing high-quality legal representation and client advocacy.
