Our client, a local CPA firm, is hiring a detail-oriented and analytical individual to join our team as a Senior Accountant. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB), and Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) implementations. Additionally, familiarity with accounting issues associated with governmental and quasi-governmental agencies is preferred for success in this role.


Responsibilities:

  • Prepare financial statements for clients in compliance with GAAP, GASB, and FASB standards.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial reports.
  • Assist in annual audit engagements by providing necessary documentation, reconciliations, and schedules.
  • Perform regular reconciliations of accounts to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data. Investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting activities by analyzing historical data, identifying trends, and assisting in the preparation of financial projections.
  • Identify opportunities for process enhancements and efficiencies within clients' accounting departments.
  • Communicate effectively with clients to address accounting inquiries, provide financial insights, and deliver exceptional client service.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred
  • CPA certification preferred, or actively pursuing CPA licensure.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, GASB, and FASB standards.
  • Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, or similar platforms.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
