About the Company - We are currently seeking a licensed VA attorney for a litigation practice law firm located in Norfolk, VA.
About the Role - The attorney should have a VA bar (required). Duties will include travel to courthouses for filings, work will consist of mostly bankruptcy, foreclosure, collections, and business law.
Responsibilities-
- Legal actions: Initiating legal actions to recover debts, such as sending demand letters, filing lawsuits, and obtaining judgments
- Legal remedies: Executing legal remedies, such as garnishing wages or seizing assets
- Legal guidance: Providing legal guidance and assistance to protect a client's legal rights
- Documenting issues: Documenting any issues or violations that a client believes occurred
- Negotiating payment plans: Negotiating payment plans to collect overdue amounts in installments
- Maintaining records: Maintaining records of contacts, attempted contacts, and payments collected
- Submitting reports: Submitting regular reports on the status of unpaid accounts and repayment progress
