The Civi Group is working with a leading Heavy Civil General Contractor in Connecticut to find a Project Executive with experience in large-scale civil construction projects throughout the state.


Our client's annual revenue has grown from $49M to $55M in the past year. Their major clients include the Connecticut Department of Transportation, Amtrak, and Metro North. In addition to civil projects, they also handle various ground-up, vertical construction projects.


As a senior manager on the construction project team, the Project Executive will lead projects from initial bid to completion. The role involves managing multiple projects concurrently, ensuring each project meets customer expectations and aligns with company standards.


Compensation depends on experience but includes a strong base salary, bonus, company vehicle OR vehicle stipend, and a full-benefits package, including PTO, health/dental benefits, and more.


Job Title: Project Executive (8+ years)


Project Types: Heavy Civil, CT DoT, Amtrak, Metro North, Vertical Construction, Commercial


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage project schedules by directing contractors' work, maintaining component durations, resolving conflicts, and obtaining responses from the Project Engineer to field requests for information
  • Collaborate with Business Development to develop new or renew client relationships
  • Ensure quality control meets company standards
  • Manage projects efficiently to maximize profitability, stay on schedule, and within budget
  • Recruit, train, coach, mentor, and supervise qualified construction personnel
  • Serve as the point person for field issues, including material quantity and vendor issues
  • Coordinate with Superintendents to ensure project completion in compliance with contractual requirements
  • Review materials, documentation, and performance to ensure conformance to plans and specifications
  • Contribute to the preparation of proposals and final bid documentation
  • Ensure contractors use the current revision of plans in the field


Skills & Qualification:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred, but not required
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience managing large heavy civil and/or vertical construction projects
  • Proficiency in Procore and Microsoft Office
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently, be self-directed, and take initiative in seeking process efficiencies
