As one of the fastest growing warehousing and logistics companies in North America, we’re looking for an experienced MATERIALS MANAGER.


POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • People leader
  • Apply and teach the lean principles of material pull systems to support customer requirements
  • Effectively train all material staff ranging from clerks to managers
  • Mentor, teach and lead employees to support solid succession planning and continually improve the depth of the team
  • Perform layered audits and drive open items to closure
  • Effectively communicate cross-functionally and with customers to plan launches, resolve issues and maintain CLI principles of operation Always be willing to help
  • Exceed customer expectations
  • Establish/maintain effective KPI’s, monitor performance and initiate improvement opportunities
  • Utilize/maintain PFEP (plan for every part)
  • Turn data into business cases to ensure we make fact-based decisions
  • Maintain accurate inventories and inventory control using techniques such as min-max and cycle count processes
  • Manage and enforce material flow and traceability in a warehousing environment using scanning technology and visual management
  • Manage the engineering change process to ensure breakpoints are achieved and communicated effectively
  • Resolve material shortages, overflow situations, and discrepant records effectively by root-cause analysis and then document continuous improvement


POSITION REQUIREMENTS:


  • Understanding of the business
  • Proficient in Third Party Services including sequencing, kitting, repack, deconsolidation, and bulk and small lot metering
  • Knowledge of Integrated Supply Chain Model (i.e., Part Sequencing, Sub Assembly, Cross Docking, operation management, logistics, warehousing, and material handling)
  • Experience developing/implementing cross-functional metrics
  • Lean material management principles focused on reducing waste and standardizing processes
  • Demonstrated success in supply chain and logistics process improvement activities
  • Understand the lean principles of material pull systems to support customer requirements
  • Strong people skills
  • Strong skills in managing salaried and hourly employees
  • Exceptional customer interfacing skills
  • Demonstrated team-building, leadership, talent development, and mentoring skills
  • Information Technology - Proficiency in Microsoft Office products to include: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access
  • Experience with material management features or modules in SAP would be an advantage
  • Materials systems EXPERT (with multiple systems)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and follow up skills
  • Proven skill in using data to make fact-based decisions and drive business cases approvals.
  • Exceptional time management, program management, and organizational skill
  • Some travel is required
  • Work long hours when required


EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Material Management, Engineering required.
  • APICS, CPIM, and Six Sigma certifications are an advantage.


WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • Must have prior Warehousing, Logistics and/or 3PL experience
  • Minimum of 6 years of management experience required
