Eleven Recruiting is searching for a Production Manager to join one of our largest Metal Plating Manufacturing companies sitting onsite in Bell Gardens CA. The Production Manager is responsible the on-time delivery of finished customer hardware that meets all requirements of the customers’ purchase orders and pertinent specifications with the most efficiencies and lowest cost. This position has responsibilities including monitoring employee performance, providing input with hiring personnel, disciplinary actions, work objectives, and their effectiveness and realigning the department as needed. In addition, this position will oversee the Shipping and Receiving department to ensure the completed product ships to customers in a timely manner.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Enforce job card compliance on the shop floor, working with the General Shop Leads. 

  • Implement good housekeeping. Perform weekly inspection of the shop. 

  • Enforce best plating practices on the shop floor.  Technical support staff will assist the OM. 

  • Coordinate tank and bath preventive maintenance with laboratory and chemical maintenance staff. 

  • Keep rework rate at 3% or less in all production departments. 

  • Apply lean manufacturing concepts to improve flow of product and throughput per shift. 

  • Coordinate shop schedule with Program Managers. 

  • Coordinate preventive equipment maintenance with the Maintenance Manager.  Assure any broken equipment is reported with maintenance work orders and promptly repaired. 

  • Control overtime hours worked in production. 

  • Oversee/supervise the Shipping and Receiving department and coordinate timely shipping of completed jobs to customers. 

  • Enforce MSI safety policies and procedures.  

  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned as necessary. 

Qualifications: 

  • 8+ years of experience in manufacturing/production and leading a team/direct reports 

  • Self-motivated, results orientated and excellent interpersonal skills  

  • Excellent communication and coaching skills  

  • Strong knowledge in production operations 

  • Must have a hands-on work ethic  

  • Experience with good manufacturing practices (GMP)
