We are a new Structural Engineering Firm, started in July 2021, based in downtown Richmond, Virginia. We are focused on the design of buildings and similar structures across most market sectors, including higher education, multifamily, commercial and hospitality.  We work on buildings of all sizes and materials with a particular interest in unique buildings in term of their end use or structural design. We are small, but growing quickly and offer a supportive and immersive opportunity to be involved in every aspect of the structural design and construction process. Since our inception our work includes a 6-story hotel near Charlottesville, a 2-story 30,000 square foot temple near DC, the renovation of a 3-story administration building at the University of Richmond, the African Landing Memorial at Fort Monroe, as well as work abroad.  


STRUCTURAL PROJECT MANAGER

Location: Richmond, Virginia with hybrid work schedule (Up to 2 days a week remote)

Experience: 5+ years

Salary: $85,000 to $105,000

This position will work on building projects ranging from small commercial buildings to more complex mid-rise and academic buildings with structural systems composed of steel, wood, masonry and concrete. This work will include new buildings as well as the renovation and adaptive reuse of existing buildings. Responsibilities for this position will include all aspects of structural design, construction administration, project management and client management. This is a highly independent role with support and final review from the principal. 

 

Requirements

·      A bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil engineering with a focus on structures

·      5+ years of experience in the structural engineering of buildings and related structures

·      Passed SE/PE exam and is a registered professional or structural engineer in the US

·      Expert understanding of major design codes including IBC, ASCE7, AISC 360, ACI 318, NDS, TMS402/602

·      Excellent leadership qualities and communication skills with the ability to maintain good relationships with employees and clients

·      Experience managing medium sized building projects at all levels of design including construction


Preferred Qualifications

·      Passed the SE Exam

·      Licensed in Virginia

·      A portfolio of project experience that includes a wide range of building and material types of moderate size and complexity

·      Experience with proposal writing and client management

·      Has an entrepreneurial spirit with an eagerness to take on new challenges

·      Adept at prioritizing their responsibilities and a proactive approach to problem solving
