The Company

Our client is a high-growth Series A start-up in the consumer app/marketplace industry. Now seeking a talented Software Engineering Manager to join the team. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience in management and will be responsible for managing and leading a diverse engineering team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality software products. This is a 30/70 hands on versus management position.


Responsibilities

  • As Engineering Manager you will manage, coach, and support your engineering team
  • Design, build, and maintain APIs, user-facing experiences, services, and systems
  • Partner with Product and Design teams
  • Help implement effective engineering processes and policies
  • Work with talent to source and hire amazing engineers
  • Build a high performing and positive work environment based on transparency and trust
  • Promote diversity and inclusion in the workplace
  • Ensure best practices are followed for software development including code reviews
  • Conduct regular performance reviews
  • Comfortable undertaking code reviews and pair programming sessions.
  • Contribute to production code when time allows


Qualifications

  • 3+ years' of management experience, 5+ years of software engineering experience
  • Extensive experience in TypeScript and Web Development, with a deep understanding of its best practices, advanced types and performance optimization techniques.
  • Preferred experience in React, NoSQL, MongoDB, TypeScript, AWS, GCP
  • Comfortable working in a 30/70 hands on versus management position.
  • You have experience growing, coaching, mentoring and providing feedback to the team
  • You are passionate about people
  • You possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills
