Primary Purpose:

The Quality Engineer is responsible for analyzing quality output using appropriate statistical methods and data analysis to drive improvements, reduce process variation, and lower the cost of quality. This role involves conducting internal quality audits and ensuring that the company's quality system is implemented and maintained to produce the highest quality products. The individual will investigate, analyze, and recommend solutions to solve quality problems related to manufacturing and distribution processes, working closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Supply Chain to ensure conformance to requirements for all new and existing products.


Responsibilities:

  • Implement systems and procedures that assure compliance with Quality Standards.
  • Create, review, and continuously improve Quality inspection work instructions, processes, and procedures.
  • Perform internal and supplier audits and issue Corrective Action Requests (CAR/SCAR).
  • Address customer complaints, leading containment action, root cause analysis, and corrective and preventive actions.
  • Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data, and making recommendations.
  • Participate in Design Reviews, including technical reviews, Feasibility discussions, and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
  • Develop, formalize, implement, and manage a Supplier Quality system ensuring incoming components meet specifications.
  • Provide material review dispositions (MRB) for non-conformances.
  • Lead and/or participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to quality.
  • Ensure calibration of quality instruments is performed.
  • Review, prepare, and submit PPAP's.


Required:

  • Proven working experience as a Quality Engineer and expertise in Quality.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 regulations and industry standards.
  • Advanced problem-solving skills, including analysis, investigation, and follow-up.
  • Experience with FMEA, SPC, MSA, Control Plans, PPAP.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment of constant change.
  • Proficiency in Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Experience leading quality-related and continuous improvement projects.
  • Proficient in statistical analysis, report preparation, and Pareto charts.
  • Excellent prioritization, interpersonal, organizational, and multitasking skills.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience performing data analysis.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing principles.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.


Preferred:

  • Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) and Auditor certifications.
  • Lean Six Sigma: Green or Black Belt certification.
  • Basic Mechanical/Manufacturing-Assembly Skills.


Education/Certification:

  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering.
