Our client, a leading financial institution in Jersey City, is seeking an Assistant Vice President Enterprise Risk Officer to join their Operational Risk Management group. This role is pivotal in building and implementing a comprehensive risk framework across all areas of the business. The successful candidate will engage with stakeholders across various departments, with potential exposure to C-level leadership, to drive value and implement best practices.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement enterprise-wide risk management frameworks and programs.
- Identify and address gaps within the organization, highlighting opportunities for process improvement and providing feedback on policy updates related to regulatory remediation.
- Engage proactively with the first line of defense to manage risk incidents and drive resolution efforts.
- Collaborate with business areas to create Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) aligned with key risks identified in the Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA).
- Lead and maintain reports from Management Risk Committees.
- Drive individual business initiatives and contribute to firm-wide and cross-risk projects.
- Perform additional tasks and duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university.
- 7+ years of experience in Risk & Credit, with a minimum of 5 years in a financial institution covering Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) components.
- Series 7 License preferred.
- Background in financial services, enterprise risk management, or finance.
- Proven ability to manage incident reporting proactively and drive resolution efforts.
- Experience in establishing frameworks in line with industry best practices.
- Assessment, process, and control-oriented mindset.
- Proficiency with Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) tools, data-driven analysis, qualitative assessments, and analytical visualizations.
- Ability to analyze firm-wide issues for macro themes, patterns, clustering, and emerging risks.
- Strong MS Office skills (Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint) with the ability to streamline data, design, and standardize risk reporting.
