Contract: W2, 5-Weeks (Holiday Coverage)

Location: New York, NY 10038, United States (100% onsite)

Pay Range: 40-43/Hour DOE

Brief Summary:

As a Technical Designer, you will support the seasonal design planning for Fall and Holiday collections. This individual contributor role involves hands-on work with garments, executing fit and comfort requirements to meet design standards. The project requires experience in technical design for intimates or apparel and the ability to work onsite four to five days per week.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute technical design process from development to final fit.
  • Analyze and evaluate garments to achieve accurate fit specifications.
  • Develop technical specifications and communicate adjustments with vendors and factories.
  • Maintain consistency in product fit and quality, ensuring alignment with design intent and cost targets.
  • Lead fittings, document fit comments, and apply pattern corrections.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet product standards.
  • Direct and mentor Assistant or Associate Technical Designers as required.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Fashion or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 2-5 years of technical design experience with intimates/apparel.
  • Proficiency with tools such as Excel, Illustrator, Flex PLM, and Centric.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, adaptability, and composure in high-paced environments.
  • Ability to work effectively onsite, collaborating closely with design and technical teams.
  • Traits of flexibility, supportiveness, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Candidates with community service or volunteer experience are encouraged.
