Pay: $50.00-$60.00 per hour DOE ($95K – 125K annually upon conversion to FTE

Location:

  • 50% in office (110 S Sierra Madre St Colorado Springs Colorado 80903)
  • 50% travel as needed


Top Skills:

  • 2+ years of hands on Electrical Engineering experience (will look at mid level and senior level)
  • Bachelors degree in electrical engineering
  • Must have Energy or Power experience
  • Must have Controls experience
  • PE not required, but a major plus
  • Ability to travel 50% of the time (the other time in the office)

As an industrial engineering firm, we provide services and support for gathering, transmission, delivery, and distribution companies associated with the oil, gas, and water industries.

Client provides project management, engineering and design, drafting, construction management, operations and maintenance, and corrosion and integrity support. The Client infrastructure allows them to offer many other value-added services, such as procurement, drafting, bid assistance, survey/GIS services, feasibility reviews, and Right of Way/Easement investigations.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Our client is looking for an Electrical Engineer for an exciting contract to hire scenario. The Electrical Engineer is the primary technical point of contact for all project deliverables. The Engineer’s responsibilities include developing project objectives, writing specifications, performing calculations, reviewing and selecting equipment, and supporting the creation of drawings. They will interact with all team members to perform work correctly and promptly along with promoting professional development. They will also actively manage their time to maintain efficient, effective, and accurate production within their projects. Also, the Engineer will have strong communication skills and be able to accomplish the results of the project at hand.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Actively engage in professional development.
  • Champion company goals and processes.
  • Actively participate in QA/QC to ensure consistency within the department.
  • Work with Project teams to ensure project deliverables are completed accurately and on time.
  • Clearly convey design philosophies, expectations, and timeline.
  • Coordinate regulatory, permitting, survey, and third-party construction efforts.
  • Specify all engineered equipment and specialty items.
  • Perform calculations to evaluate proposed designs.
  • Evaluate design’s overall effectiveness, cost, reliability, and safety.
  • Communicate design changes with key project team members.
  • Understand and apply standard engineering principles.
  • Treat all company information and customer information confidentially.

Experience in generating the following deliverables:

o Load list

o One-line diagrams

o Power cable/conduit schedules

o Conduit/cable tray plans and details

o Grounding plans and details

o Area classification plans and details

o Lighting plans and details

o Panel schedules

o Heat trace plan and details

o Cathodic protection plan and details

o E-House layout

o E-house /PDC specifications

o Motor control schematics

o Electrical equipment specifications and data sheets (MCC, UPS, transformers, etc.)

o Lightning protection plans and details

o Electrical rack drawings Familiarity with NEC, NEMA, IEEE, and API 500 and how they apply to the oil and gas industry.
