Access Data Consulting is partnering with a leading telecommunications customer to fill a Data Scientist for their Internet Product Data Analytics team. We're looking for someone with a strong background working in SQL, Python, R, data modeling, and data sets.


Title: Data Scientist

Location: 4 days/week onsite in Greenwood Village/DTC

Type: 12-month contract W2

Note: Not a part-time contract, full-time hours expected


Job Description:

Ideally, We're Looking For:

  • 5+ years of experience with data manipulation and statistical modeling as a Data Scientist.
  • 5+ years of Python, R (willing to look at candidates that have C or Java).
  • Strong analytical skills in SQL and Excel.
  • Experience with someone who has led the design and deployment of ML/analytics models
  • A methodical person that is able to go above and beyond when looking at data sets.
  • A great culture fit, this team is highly collaborative


Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the internet customer experience.
  • Requirements gathering, problem formulation, data grooming, data exploration, model prototyping, model validation, and production.
  • Leverage consultative experience delivering insights on large, structured and unstructured data to product owners and executives with strong communications skills (verbal, written PowerPoint).
  • Perform analyses using a range of techniques from basic (pivot table) to advanced (ML models).
  • Troubleshoot, debug, solve problems where the analytical approach or algorithm is not meeting performance standards.


Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years with Python (including relevant packages) in support of advanced analytics.
  • Effective synthesis and presentation skills.
  • Ability to communicate results and recommendations to a wide variety of audiences including executive leadership.
  • Understanding of data architecture, data warehouse, and data marts.
  • Experience with other database and data store technologies, such as NoSQL, key-value, columnar, graph, and document.
  • Extensive experience with large data sets and the tools to obtain, transform, and store data on Big Data and streaming services.
  • Program, product, or project management experience delivering analytics results.


Bonus Qualifications:

  • Experience with Hadoop, Hive, Spark, or AWS.
  • Experience with Tableau.
  • Knowledge of other techniques such as text analysis and text mining.
  • Background in telecom or cable.
  • Comprehensive experience with machine learning models (regression, decision trees, clustering, SVMs, neural networks).


Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, statistics, operations research and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
