We are seeking a dedicated GIS Specialist to join the NAVFAC Facilities Real Property Management Branch at Naval Air Station Lemoore, an integral member of the Public Work Department (PWD).
The PWD supports a major Navy Installation, such as the Carrier Air Group in the Pacific, with a large footprint that accommodates multiple tenant activities. This role is instrumental in the warfighters’ mission and has significant economic and environmental impacts on the surrounding community.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Serve as a technical advisor to the Asset Utilization Division and participate in NAVFAC-wide GIS teams.
- Review and analyze Geographic Information Systems (GIS) issues and support HQ Real Property Inventory efforts at the installation level.
- Prepare and present comprehensive reports covering all phases of studies and investigations related to your area of responsibility in support of the installation.
- Research and study operating procedures to identify areas for improvement and make recommendations.
- Assist in the development, improvement, implementation, and coordination of GIS software and databases for the GeoReadiness Program.
- Analyze the GeoReadiness Explorer (GRX) interface and existing NAVFAC business systems to recommend improvements.
- Engage in personnel contacts to discuss GIS information architecture, models, planning, and problem resolution.
- Develop enterprise technical policies and procedures in coordination with the GeoReadiness Program Manager.
- Work with the GIS Program Manager to gather requirements and document processes for greater efficiency and effectiveness.
- Independently provide GIS and computer-aided facilities management (CAFM) products and services, supporting the Public Works Business Line primarily at the installation level.
- Conduct operational and mission-oriented GIS/CAFM database studies to identify critical operational and interface problems.
- Administer geospatial data input, quality assurance, and file maintenance for Naval Air Station Lemoore.
The ideal candidate has experience with GIS, either in the public or private sector; is proactive, able to take initiative, and capable of performing with minimal oversight.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Valid Driver's License
- Bachelor's of Science Degree in geography; or related physical or social science such as geology, meteorology, economics, statistics, sociology, anthropology, political science, history, cartography, computer science, urban studies, or planning that included at least 24 semester hours in geography or related fields or a combination of education and experience: courses equivalent to a major in geography, or a related field that included at least 24 semester hours in geography or related fields, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education.

- Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
