Role Overview: The Regional Capital Construction Project Manager is responsible for overseeing a portfolio of small to mid-sized ($50k to $3M) capital construction projects. This role involves coordinating resources from various departments, including Engineering, Planning & Scheduling, Project Controls, and Construction, to ensure the successful development and execution of projects. The Project Manager will review project scopes and estimates, manage interactions with external parties, handle change management, prioritize and plan field work, monitor project costs, and contribute to internal and regulatory reporting.


Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Manage a regional portfolio of small to mid-sized ($50k to $3M) capital construction projects, such as aging gas pipeline replacements, system improvements, and new business installations.
  • Lead regular coordination meetings with resources from Engineering, Planning & Scheduling, Project Controls, and Construction groups to develop and execute projects.
  • Establish project priorities and resolve conflicts as they arise, holding teams accountable for deliverables and milestones.
  • Assist in reviewing project scopes and budgets, including reviewing invoices and change orders.
  • Plan and schedule projects in collaboration with the Construction and Planning & Scheduling Departments, ensuring appropriate resource availability.
  • Regularly use Primavera scheduling software, PowerBI for data visualizations, and company asset management software.
  • Monitor projects under construction through site walks, serving as a role model and advocate for field safety.
  • Develop reports required for internal scorecards and external regulatory agencies, including status updates, projections, timelines, and contractor selections.


Must-Haves:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Applied Science, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of related natural gas distribution or general construction experience.
  • Project management experience.
  • Strong computer and analytical skills.
  • Ability to make timely decisions and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to diverse internal and external audiences.


Skills:

  • Proficiency in Primavera scheduling software.
  • Proficiency in PowerBI for data visualization.
  • Strong understanding of project management principles.
  • Familiarity with asset management software.


Soft Skills:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
