REPORTS TO TITLE: VP, Sourcing
SCOPE OF POSITION
Coordinate and manage, vendor information, functional testing, and sample flow, for the entire dinnerware category.
BASIC FUNCTIONS
Manage the entire product development to delivery in the dinnerware category to achieve strategic business goals. Provide leadership and actively participate in total quality enhancement of product and process execution as well as achieving departmental financial goals.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- implement, and manage the short- and long-term sourcing strategies.
- with design, planning team, sales, and operations to ensure quality and timely development deadlines and production delivery.
- process improvement / efficiency.
- with overseas office and vendors to ensure deadlines and expectations are met.
- production meetings with internal teams and overseas office/vendors.
- quality standards on goods delivered.
- costing details and negotiate to confirm final pricing to meet departmental goals.
- the purchasing process in coordination with internal departments involved in the supply chain management process.
- and coordinate all samples (incoming and outgoing, internal marketing, show, photo), including unpacking, labeling, and distribution to appropriate departments.
- functional testing process, maintain vendor database, track all testing by vendor.
- product development details as assigned, including packaging & label development, design critique correspondence, functional testing process and data management, PQS (production quality sample) distribution, and ship date follow-up & communications.
- with suppliers and Creative Services to make sure that we are following up on the details of the collateral material and packaging material development.
- the details of the product testing standards (manual), clarify any issues and work as the primary conduit with QA and supplier follow up. Ensure all testing is completed on a timely basis.
MUST REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree required in related discipline.
Experience:
At least 8-10 years in Sourcing working with factories, preferably in Dinnerware / Serveware / Kitchen related product lines. Proficient in excel (Pivot, VLOOKUP minimum). Must know how to land FOB costs and negotiate costs.
