Senior Network Engineer

JOB SUMMARY:The Senior Network Engineer is principally responsible for troubleshooting and maintaining the corporate LAN/WAN environment and ensuring the highest level of availability to all corporate users and vendor connections. The Senior Network Engineer is expected to successfully troubleshoot and address the most complex of problems, as well as deliver on complex project milestones.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Configuration, deployment, testing, maintenance, monitoring and troubleshooting of telecommunications and data network components across an enterprise WANDesign and implement network/telecom architecture in a secure and cost-effective manner, including data, voice, and integrated messagingClosely work with data/telecom vendors to resolve emergent network-related connectivity issuesSupport the company’s voice and integrated messaging systems, across the networkWork both independently and as part of a team to deliver on complex and detail-oriented network projects, providing regular updates to IT management when appropriatePlan and coordinate network changes for office moves/consolidations and new office openingsPlan and provision both data and telecom infrastructure solutions, including routers, switches, IP PBX gateways, cabling, data/telecom circuits, and wireless technologiesCoordinate equipment and service installations with vendors, facilities managers, and IT DepartmentServe as level 3 support to the corporate help desk for network and telephony tickets.Lead network troubleshooting efforts, communicate and escalate with appropriate personnel all network maintenance and outages, and document these activities as requiredAnalyze information to proactively determine, recommend, and plan data/telecom network enhancements to maintain efficient business operations across the corporate networkParticipate in after-hours on-call rotation, and handle issues as they ariseWork with the Network Project Manager and Director, Production Services to help create and define the network strategy for the companySome work required on nights and weekends as required by projects and/or issuesMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field5+ years of hands-on IT work experience in a network/telecom environmentExpert level knowledge of network/telecom engineering, design, planning, and implementationStrong knowledge of telecommunication systems, switching architecture, telephony, dial and call routing plans, wiring, and wireless technologiesAbility to work well in both a team environment as well as independently with minimal supervisionAbility to communicate well with users and vendors, as well as other members of the group and departmentAbility to mentor members of the IT Customer Service help desk, and willing to assist in a support roleAble to manage both complex projects and handle multiple tasks at once while effectively communicating status and issues to the team and to department management** This is a full-time, W2 position with Hub Group – We are NOT able to provide sponsorship currently ** Salary: $100,000 – $130,000 base salary + bonus eligibility **This is an estimated range based on the circumstances at the time of posting, however, may change based on a combination of factors, including but not limited to skills, experience, education, market factors, geographical location, budget, and demand**BenefitsWe offer a comprehensive benefits plan including:MedicalDentalVisionFlexible Spending Account (FSA)Employee Assistance Program (EAP)Life & AD&D InsuranceDisabilityPaid Time OffPaid HolidaysBEWARE OF FRAUDHub Group has become aware of online recruiting related scams in which individuals who are not affiliated with or authorized by Hub Group are using Hub Group’s name in fraudulent emails, job postings, or social media messages.
