Chief Credit Officer to join our team and help our clients access the capital they need to grow and
succeed.
Position Summary:
Stonehenge is seeking a seasoned finance professional to join a new SBLC lending platform as the
Chief Credit Officer for SBA 7(a) Lending. The Chief Credit Officer will be responsible for
providing direction, credit oversight, and management of loan policies and procedures to ensure the
overall quality of the SBLC lending portfolio.
Responsibilities Include:
Credit risk management - Oversees the credit approval process, credit policies, and loan
documentation. Reviews all large or complex loans prior to submission to Loan Committee.
Loan portfolio quality - Manages portfolio mix and quality and that all loans comply with SBA
7(a) regulations. Acts as a liaison with the Origination and Operation teams to ensure safe and
sound portfolio growth
Oversee Underwriting Regulations - Maintains a deep understanding of the underwriting rules and
regulations for 7(a) loans, including appraisal and environmental policies and ensures loans comply
with state and federal laws, SBA regulations and Stonehenge’s lending policies and procedures.
Loan Closing: Works closely with loan administration and origination personnel to ensure timely
and efficient loan closing.
Loan Documentation - Ensures that all credit-related loan documentation is consistent with loan
approval and any subsequent credit modifications.
Portfolio Credit Monitoring: Maintains the Allowance for Loan Loss Reserve and makes
recommendations to executive management for monthly allocations to the Loan Loss Reserve. Ensures
that all loan facilities are accurately risk rated at origination and through the life of the loan.
Processing and Follow-Up: Manage the loan application process, including coordinating with
internal teams and external partners, and ensuring timely progress from application to approval.
Communicates clear reasons for denial in a timely manner to applicants when their loan request has
been denied.
Market Research: Stay updated on industry trends and market terms for 7(a) loans.
Teamwork: Works alongside lending support teams to maintain a high quality of work and
efficiency in operations to ensure approved loans are originated. Performs direct supervisory
duties of department staff, and coordinates staff for coverage in all related areas of the
department.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. Advanced
certifications (e.g., Certified SBA Loan Specialist) are a plus.
Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in a senior commercial lending or credit officer
role, with a minimum of 5 years of SBA 7(a) lending experience.

o A high level of financial acumen and proven skill to conduct detailed, structured, and
comprehensive analysis and ability to synthesize results in a clear, articulate manner.
o A strong work ethic and self-starter mentality, with the ability to lead an underwriting team.
o Strong communication, collaboration and influencing skills.
o The ability to structure and present complex ideas and information in simple, persuasive written
and oral forms.
o Excellent planning and organization skills.
o The highest degree of ethics and integrity and a “team-player” mentality.
o Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
This position will be based in Dallas, Texas or Columbus, Ohio
