We are seeking an experienced Process Engineer for a project in Plaquemine, LA. This assignment is expected to last between 12 and 18 months. The engineer will report to a Lead Engineer and be responsible for designing and sizing critical equipment and process components.


Key Responsibilities:

Equipment and Process Design:

  • Sizing Equipment: Accurately size process equipment to meet project requirements.
  • Pump Sizing: Calculate and select pumps based on process needs.
  • Pipe Sizing: Design and specify appropriate piping dimensions and materials.
  • General Process Design: Support other process-related aspects of the project.

Process Optimization & Monitoring:

  • Monitor and assess process performance to identify efficiency improvements.
  • Adjust and maintain process control systems to ensure optimal production conditions.

Troubleshooting & Problem Solving:

  • Provide technical support to resolve complex process issues.
  • Investigate root causes of failures or deviations and implement solutions to minimize downtime.

Safety & Compliance:

  • Ensure adherence to safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
  • Conduct hazard analyses and participate in safety audits to uphold plant safety.

Data Analysis & Reporting:

  • Collect and analyze production data to create reports and performance metrics.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements based on data analysis.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and R&D teams to share process insights.
  • Assist in training plant personnel on process adjustments and new technologies.

Project Support & Equipment Maintenance:

  • Support scaling up new processes from pilot to full-scale production.
  • Provide expertise for equipment maintenance and ensure preventive measures are followed.


Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: 5+ years of relevant field experience.
  • Skills:
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Proficiency with data analysis tools and the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with P&IDs, process simulation tools, and process safety management (PSM).
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Certifications:
  • Preferred: Six Sigma, Lean, or similar process optimization certifications.
  • Knowledge of OSHA standards is a plus.
