Position: Fastening Engineer
Duration: 12 Month Contract + extensions
Location: Dearborn, MI
Compensation: $35-$45/hr
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
Must Haves:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
- A minimum of three years of experience working within automotive manufacturing
- A strong foundation within fastening, torque, or error proofing
- Ability to travel to different North American Manufacturing Plants
- Strong experience with Microsoft Office tools
- Experience creating Pivot charts, Gantt charts, and timelines within excel
- Need to have strong organization skills and the ability to work cross functionally with different teams
- Experience implementing or auditing manufacturing requirements, standards, and procedures
- Strong communication skills
Plusses:
- Prior experience working closely with or for a tooling supplier
- Experience with cradle to grave tooling development
- Experience using CEC or Red Viking for error proofing
- Experience with DC tooling, tools net, or tool tracker
Day to Day:
Insight Global is seeking a Fastening Engineer to join one of our automotive clients in the Metro Detroit area. The person in this role is going to be supporting major fastening initiatives at different manufacturing plants within North America. You’d be responsible for ordering fastening equipment and making sure that tooling suppliers are able to communicate with the software’s that are being implemented into the plants. You’d be working cross functionally with other teams within the company as well as working closely with different tooling suppliers. We’re looking for someone who is a self-starter with strong communication and organizational skills.
