R.M. Chin & Associates, Inc. (CHIN) is seeking a proven Business Development Director to support our growing Aviation / Transportation/Buildings sectors in Texas. As a Business Development Director, you are key to the firm’s strategic growth in Texas. By leveraging existing and forging new relationships, you will develop vision and strategy to increase revenue, expand markets, and accomplish financial objectives. This position will work closely with the Sector leaders within CHIN’s Aviation, Transportation and Building sectors, as well as the President to develop and establish targeted relationships and strategies that benefit CHIN.


Responsibilities and Essential Duties:

Relationship Cultivation

  • Lead business development initiatives for the Dallas/Fort Worth region and other regions where CHIN has established project offices.
  • Develop, maintain, and execute strategic client and market sector action plans.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with owners, consultants, and contractors.
  • Develop strategies for and participate in client and collaborator meetings with national experts, regional doer sellers and corporate leadership

Industry Engagement

  • Participate in industry organizations to increase CHIN visibility and stay abreast of market conditions and competition.
  • Maintain and develop a local network of proven reliable sources on current and perspective clients.
  • Locate and propose potential business opportunities by contacting potential partners as well as researching internet and public – released relevant news leads.
  • Demonstrate continual learning by participating in educational opportunities, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations.
  • Research and understand geographic and market sector issues and trends in local market.
  • Conduct research on leads to determine if they are qualified and “winnable.”
  • Understand local competitive differentiators and perspectives to better position CHIN against our competitors.

Strategy Development

  • Engage with sector leaders to understand and develop sector goals, targets and pursuits
  • Contribute in the analysis, and responses of RFQs and RFPs for opportunities
  • Direct, mentor and coach doer sellers on effective business development process.
  • Track all pursuit and relationship management information through Chin’s centralized CRM, ensuring all activity is up to date and accurate.
  • Create comprehensive reports that summarize business development and marketing activities.
  • Work with sector leaders to identify strategic hires/doer sellers to achieve/advance goals.
  • Work with leadership and doer sellers to develop and execute yearly business development plans focused on targeted sectors and clients (both existing and new) to achieve goals.
  • Provide thought-leadership in business pursuits and maintain up to date knowledge of current activities.
  • Collaborate in preparation of materials for business development introductions and relationship building.

Qualifications

  • Education - Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Business, Communications, Architecture, Civil Engineering, or highly-related discipline
  • Experience - 10+ years' industry experience.
  • Proven track record in creating revenue through new market growth; developing effective client relationships; and providing pursuit leadership.
  • Excellent written and communication skills and the ability to independently manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Existing knowledge of market sectors in several of the targeted Texas areas is required.
