Pride Health is hiring a CT TECH to support our client’s medical facility in Washington and other locations. This is a 13-week assignment (Possibility of extension or conversion) opportunity and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization
Job Summary:
A CT (Computed Tomography) Technologist is a healthcare professional responsible for operating CT scanners to create detailed images of a patient's internal structures, assisting in the diagnosis and treatment of various medical conditions. They prepare patients for imaging procedures, ensuring they are comfortable and explaining the process to alleviate any concerns. CT Technologists are skilled in positioning patients correctly and adjusting equipment settings to obtain the clearest images while minimizing radiation exposure. They work closely with radiologists and other medical staff to interpret the images and help identify abnormalities. In addition to technical expertise, they must maintain a high level of patient care, ensuring safety and privacy during the imaging process. CT Technologists also maintain and troubleshoot equipment, ensuring it is functioning properly and adhering to safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate CT Scanners: Set up and operate CT imaging equipment to capture detailed cross-sectional images of patients' internal structures.
- Prepare Patients: Explain the CT procedure to patients, answer questions, and ensure their comfort and safety during the imaging process.
- Position Patients: Properly position patients to obtain the most accurate and effective images while adhering to safety guidelines.
- Monitor Patients: Observe patients during the procedure, ensuring they remain still and are not experiencing discomfort or distress.
- Minimize Radiation Exposure: Adjust scanning parameters to minimize radiation exposure while maintaining image quality, in line with ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) principles.
- Collaborate with Radiologists: Work closely with radiologists and other healthcare providers to discuss imaging results and assist in diagnoses.
- Maintain Equipment: Regularly inspect and maintain CT imaging equipment, perform routine checks, and troubleshoot minor issues to ensure optimal functioning.
- Document Patient Information: Accurately document patient data, imaging results, and procedural details in medical records for review and future reference.
- Follow Safety Protocols: Adhere to safety procedures, including proper use of protective equipment and infection control practices.
- Stay Current with Technology: Continuously update skills and knowledge to stay current with new CT technology, procedures, and best practices in medical imaging.
Qualifications:
- ARRT required
- BLS from AHA
- CT license from board certified
- Strong critical thinking, communication, and stress management skills.
Additional Information:
- Location: Washington and other locations
- Job Type: 13 Weeks Contract
- Shifts: 8 HR SHIFT DAY
- Weekly Pay: $1950 to $2150
*Offered pay rate will be based on education, experience, and healthcare credentials.
