IT Manager

San Diego FC (San Diego FC) is the newest member of the MLS family. As part of the unique Right to Dream model and the Sycuan Tribe’s deep roots, we are proud to be building a San Diego-centric soccer organization and residential youth academy that honors our history and celebrates emerging excellence on and off the pitch.

Summary

San Diego FC is seeking an experienced IT Manager to oversee the day-to-day technology operations across our corporate office, first team training facility, academy campus, and occasional game-day support at Snapdragon Stadium. This role requires hands-on management of technical support functions, from troubleshooting to infrastructure maintenance, ensuring that our staff and team have seamless, reliable access to IT resources.

This position will work closely with our managed IT service provider, collaborating on infrastructure needs and maintaining network and security standards without taking on the strategic planning responsibilities managed by our IT partner.

Responsibilities:

  • Corporate and Campus Technical Support: Provide on-site desktop and infrastructure support at our corporate office, first team training facility, and academy campus. Troubleshoot and resolve issues with hardware, software, network connectivity, and mobile devices.
  • End user support - Support end users on all IT related issues, updating tickets in IT service providers ticketing system and providing status updates to users and leadership team.
  • Coordination with IT Partner: Work in collaboration with our managed IT service provider, holding them accountable for the campus network infrastructure at the academy training facility to ensure high performance and security.
  • Stadium Coordination: Support occasional, light IT tasks at Snapdragon Stadium in collaboration with the stadium’s in-house IT team, ensuring seamless game-day operations.
  • IT Lifecycle Management: Manage employee onboarding and offboarding processes, including account setup, IT orientations, and secure access control. Oversee company-issued device deployment and maintenance.
  • System Administration: Administer email accounts, user mailboxes, VPN, and remote access for corporate and remote staff. Oversee device licensing and billing as necessary.
  • Network and Security Oversight: Monitor network connectivity and maintain security protocols, antivirus software, and data protection measures across San Diego FC’s LAN/WAN systems.
  • Documentation and IT Asset Management: Maintain accurate IT asset records and documentation. Propose technology upgrades or changes as needed to support day-to-day operational needs.
  • Communication and IT Policy Support: Implement IT policies set in collaboration with management, fostering a customer service-oriented IT environment.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other relevant IT tasks as required to support San Diego FC’s operational needs.

Education and Experience:

  • 3-5 years of IT support or IT management experience, ideally in a multi-location or dynamic environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (preferred).
  • Experience working with managed IT service providers and familiarity with enterprise network and security systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Enterprise Solutions, including Office 365 and Active Directory.

Skills:

  • Technical Proficiency: Skilled in troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues, with experience in server and remote access technologies (VPN, RDP).
  • Security Awareness: Knowledge of security protocols, antivirus management, and data protection strategies.
  • Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, providing quality service to team members.
  • Problem-Solving: Able to diagnose and resolve technical issues promptly and effectively.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong asset management and documentation abilities, with attention to detail.
  • Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to work effectively with third-party service providers and internal stakeholders.
