Must be able to pass a 6G welding test. Able to read print layout and build vessel.
General Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent, above average communication and organizational skills. Above all must be a team player with high level of dedication. Experience as a pipe welder. Working knowledge of AWS, API, ANSI, and ASME codes and standards.
Physical Requirements: Must be able to stand/walk up to 90% of the workday; occasional bending, squatting, ascending ladders/stairways, and occasional lifting of up to 40 pounds. Ability to assess weights and judge distance and heights is necessary.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Pipe and Vessel Fabrication
- Efficiently and accurately operates welding equipment and related tools necessary for manufacturing and production.
- Required to read prints and drawings accurately and follows all work instructions.
- Required to interpreted blueprints and schematics/isometrics.
- Use your specialized knowledge to create new piping systems and repair existing ones.
- Ability to perform a wide variety of weld types at a high level without much supervision.
- Assembling, installing, and repairing pipe components and systems according to specifications.
- Preparing working materials by clamping or cutting.
- Examines work pieces for defects and measure work piece with straightedge or template to ensure conformance with specifications.
- Dismantles metal assemblies or cuts scrap metal, using thermal-cutting equipment such as flame-cutting torch or plasma-arc equipment.
- Connects hoses from torch to tanks of oxygen and fuel gas and turns valves to release mixture.
- Climbs ladders or works on scaffolds.
- Reports any discrepancies and safety related issues to shop foreman.
- Performs any task, assignment, or project assigned by supervisor and shop foreman with expeditiousness and accuracy to accommodate production flow.
- Must inspect and repair all defects and discontinuities before Quality Control Inspector is called, makes repairs to substandard welds.
