Director of Preconstruction

Reporting to the President of Construction, the Director of Preconstruction will act as a key leader in the entire work acquisition process, including management, coordination, and delivery of the preconstruction phases of all multifamily projects and will have extensive client contact.


Responsibilities Include:

  • Assist in developing the division strategy, vision and business planning process
  • Coordinate, manage, and supervise the work of subordinate preconstruction members and support staff
  • Establish and maintain relationships with existing and new clients
  • Lead preparation of proposals for new business and presentations to clients
  • Attend and participate in business meetings, industry events and conferences to promote firm in the markets we serve
  • Develop and maintain leads, review lead sources, participate and help guide the identification of pursuit targets
  • Participate in and assist in attracting, recruiting, developing and retaining top caliber talent
  • Prepare and analyze cost models during the Design Development and/or bidding period
  • Coordinate and assure that a preliminary construction schedule has been developed for each estimates


Qualifications Include:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field
  • 5-10+ years of experience in preconstruction/estimating
  • Experience leading the preconstruction process on stick-framed multifamily units
