The Role

We are seeking a Producer who has a deep passion for horror and supernatural genres, has FEATURE FILM Producer experience an understanding of market trends, and the skills to secure project financing. This role requires someone with strong industry connections, including established relationships with distribution companies like XYZ and NEON, finance circles, and major talent agencies. A love for horror and a desire to push the genre forward are essential.

Represent Schoolhouse Pictures at festivals, network with key figures in horror and genre filmmaking, and expand your own professional relationships.
  • Flexible Work Environment: Remote and hybrid work options are available, providing flexibility during pre-production and development phases, and creating a balanced approach to on-set work.

Responsibilities

  • Project Development & Oversight: Manage projects from development through post-production, working closely with writers, directors, and the creative team to bring high-quality, genre-defining films to life.
  • Financing & Distribution: Leverage your existing finance and industry connections to secure funding and develop distribution strategies, particularly with partners like XYZ and NEON.
  • Agency Relations: Utilize agency relationships to attract talent, package projects, and negotiate for financing, ensuring top-level talent involvement in every production.
  • Networking and Market Expansion: Actively engage with distributors, festival programmers, and potential buyers to grow Schoolhouse Pictures’ brand and reach.

Ideal Candidate

  • Strong Industry Connections: Proven relationships with distribution companies (XYZ, NEON) and financiers, and an understanding of current market dynamics in horror and supernatural genres.
  • Horror Genre Enthusiast: A true fan of horror with a deep knowledge of genre trends and the ability to identify projects that resonate with audiences.
  • Experience in Film Finance: Background in securing financing, structuring deals, and managing budgets to optimize financial outcomes for projects.
  • Agency Relationships: Established connections with talent agencies to help bring high-quality talent on board and manage negotiations for project packaging.
  • Track Record of Producing Successful Genre Projects: Ideally with a portfolio that includes horror or supernatural films, demonstrating your ability to bring unique projects from development to distribution.
