TRG Manufacturing Search Division is seeking a motivated Buyer/Sourcing Specialist to join an industry-leading global manufacturer and integrator of complex high-speed production systems and tooling. As a Buyer/Sourcing Specialist, you will be responsible for managing supplier selection, contract negotiation, and ongoing supplier relationships while overseeing commodity management. Your role will involve screening and onboarding new suppliers, ensuring document compliance, and maintaining accurate supplier records within ERP systems. You will also analyze category spending to identify opportunities for cost savings, process improvements, and enhanced commercial terms. Additionally, you will create RFQ packages, resolve delivery or pricing issues, and serve as an escalation point for supplier-related challenges.



A key aspect of this position is the ability to read technical drawings, including GD&T, and possess a strong understanding of the manufacturing processes for machined and metal-fabricated parts. Candidates should have a mechanical mindset with practical knowledge of machining or metal fabrication. While prior sourcing experience is not required, those with previous experience sourcing machined parts or a background in machining, CNC programming, manufacturing engineering, or value engineering are highly preferred.



This role demands strong analytical skills, including the ability to manage large data sets to support decision-making, problem-solving, and trend analysis. Collaboration with domestic and international suppliers will be critical as you work to find, develop, and maintain supplier relationships that align with organizational goals.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience sourcing machined parts or a background in machining, CNC programming, manufacturing engineering, or value engineering are highly preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or a technical field with 3+ years of purchasing or sourcing experience in manufacturing
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with ERP systems
  • Certifications like APICS or SCM are a plus.
