Pride Health is hiring a Medical Laboratory Scientist to support our client’s medical facility based in Gaithersburg, MD. This is a full-time contract of 11 months with possibilities of extension or conversion to permanent opportunity and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization


Position: Medical Laboratory Scientist

Shift: Night shift Mon – Fri 10 PM - 8.30 AM

Duration: 11 months Contract with possibilities of extension/ Conversion to full-time

Location: Gaithersburg, MD


Note:

  • Candidate should possess or be eligible for national certification as an MT / MLT from a recognized organization (ASCP or AMT).


Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for performing routine and complex laboratory testing with precision and accuracy, including specimen handling, analysis, and result reporting.
  • Ensures adherence to CLIA, HIPAA, and OSHA guidelines, while maintaining thorough records and quality control procedures.
  • Troubleshoots and corrects testing discrepancies, and reports critical results to clients.
  • Actively participates in training sessions, safety meetings, and inspections, while supporting department operations through equipment maintenance and procedural updates.


Qualifications:

  • Education: BS in Medical Technology; or BS/BA in Chemistry or Biology, or Previously qualified as a Technologist under 42 CFR 493.1433 published in March 14, 1990.
  • 1 year Clinical experience (high complexity testing) preferred.
  • Minimum of one year of clinical laboratory experience in highly complex testing for those with BS/BA in Chemistry or Biology.
  • A successful candidate should possess or be eligible for national certification as an MT / MLT from a recognized organization (ASCP or AMT).


*Offered pay rate will be based on education, experience, and healthcare credentials.
