Cobol Programmer

We are seeking an experienced COBOL developer to join our team for a critical app modernization project at a leading banking client. The ideal candidate will have strong COBOL programming skills and experience in modernizing legacy banking applications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze existing COBOL-based banking applications

• Develop and implement strategies to modernize legacy systems

• Write, modify, and debug COBOL code

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration

• Assist in data migration and system testing

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in COBOL programming

• Strong understanding of banking systems and financial transactions

• Experience with mainframe environments (e.g., IBM z/OS)

• Knowledge of modern programming languages and frameworks

• Familiarity with app modernization techniques and best practices

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with JCL, DB2, and CICS

• Understanding of Agile methodologies

• Knowledge of regulatory compliance in the banking sector
