Adams Clinical is seeking a psychiatrist to serve as a Principal Investigator for our expanding research practice focused on late phase industry-sponsored trials of novel treatments for a variety of psychiatric and neurological conditions. Adams is a rapidly growing research site network with locations currently in Watertown, Boston, Harlem, and The Bronx. This role is located out of our Harlem site, Berman Clinical, which is located at 345 E 102nd St Suite 200, New York, NY 10029.

As a Principal Investigator, you will lead and oversee clinical research studies focused on CNS disorders. This position offers the opportunity to work in a rewarding environment where you can make a positive impact on individuals' lives.


Responsibilities:

Physicians at Adams Clinical take a lead role as Principal Investigator and/or Sub-Investigator, overseeing staff members to ensure that trials are conducted safely and with high fidelity to the prescribed protocol. Most of this job involves patient contact. In addition to the responsibilities listed below, opportunities exist for regular travel to industry and academic conferences.

  • Conduct assessments to diagnose mental health conditions
  • Evaluate and screen potential subjects based on study eligibility criteria; perform other psychiatric evaluations as required
  • Perform physical examinations as a part of clinical study procedures
  • Provide ongoing assessments of study subjects including any potential adverse events, or serious adverse events and ensures proper reporting and medical management of such events
  • Evaluate and assess laboratory reports and ECG’s
  • Complete all training for study specific psychometric rating scales assigned to Principal Investigator in a timely manner; administer and score psychometric rating scales at patient visits according to schedule of assessments
  • Complete protocol specific training as required per sponsor’s vendors to obtain certification to conduct testing and rating scales for specific protocols
  • Conduct and document training for all delegated individuals tasked with performing any study specific activities in the study
  • Complete all documentation, paper and electronic, as required per protocol
  • Provide oversight and ensures proper delegation of duties to appropriate staff
  • Provide and maintain updated study related documentation as required by the clinical research trial to ensure data integrity
  • Evaluate and report safety reports, protocol noncompliance and any other protocol specific reports
  • Follow requirements for FDA form 1572
  • Collaborate with operational and management team to ensure site goals are met
  • Attend Investigator Meetings as needed (some travel may apply)
  • Maintain all required licenses


Skills:

  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Proficiency in conducting thorough patient assessments
  • Ability to work with diverse patient populations, including geriatrics
  • Knowledge of medical records management and documentation


Preferred candidates will also have a knowledge of clinical research methodologies, regulatory requirements, and GCP; however, no experience in clinical research is needed.


Position Details:

This is a full-time, in-person position and a business with standard operating hours always between 8am and 6pm M-F. There is no on-call schedule and generally no weekend work. Applicants should anticipate a 40 hour work week, with schedule flexibility possible.
