About the role:


As our Senior Backend Developer, you will be responsible for building, maintaining and continually improving the backend that powers our AI-powered government document platform. You will oversee everything from how we manage customer orders to the automation of customer applications end-to-end.You’ll need to be able to manage multiple projects and work in an agile manner, handling everything from building robust APIs to integrating AI technologies to and ensuring compliance with security standards. As such, this role requires extensive backend development experience and a commitment to constant innovation and optimization.


Your responsibilities:

  • Develop, and maintain scalable backend systems and APIs to support the functionality of our AI-driven backend and client portal
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including front-end developers, AI/ML engineers, and product managers, to define clear specifications, features, and timelines.
  • Implement security protocols and data protection measures to ensure compliance with government standards.
  • Optimize applications for maximum speed, scalability, and efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing backend software.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior developers and outsourced developers
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and advancements in backend development, AI technologies, and government regulations.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in backend development with expertise in languages such as Python, Java, or Node.js.
  • Proven experience with cloud services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and database technology (SQL, NoSQL).
  • Strong understanding of GraphQL, RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and containerization technologies
  • Experience in implementing and maintaining high-traffic, scalable applications.
  • Familiarity with software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum) and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of AI/ML integration into backend systems is a big plus
